Amish Ride

Event date:

Ride: Amish Ride

Date(s): Friday, 17 July – Sunday 19 July 2026

Description: Please consider joining us for the BEST overnight ride of the year. A leisurely day ride north by east avoiding Interstates where possible en route to Holmes County Ohio and the greater Millersburg area is the plan. As is tradition, Der Dutchman in Plain City is our planned northbound lunchtime stop; they have the best fried chicken I've tasted! A restful evening awaits at the quaint but fabulous Guggisberg Swiss Inn where we'll be greeted by it's friendly owner and our weekend host Julia. Saturday's plan is a 50 minute jaunt north to Canton where we'll spend a few hours at the Pro Football Hall of Fame. After lunch expect an exciting filled few hours of riding back to the Inn mapped out by Jim... so expect so well thought out twisties. You can also choose to take the day off and relax at the Inn drinking their winery's libations and, or enjoy an hour or two of horseback riding. Saturday's evening meal will be a unique affair at Lizzie's (a private residence) where we'll be served traditional Amish comfort food and PIE! Live music is planned for both Friday and Saturday evenings and we may also have the opportunity to interact with the stable's horses. After breakfast on Sunday we'll meander back home doing our best to avoid Interstate highways with a nice lunch along the way.

Lodging: We'll be staying 2 nights at the Guggisberg Swiss Inn. Everyone must make their own reservations. Eighteen rooms have been reserved under the block “PK HOG” at $159.95 per night (excluding tax) which includes a full breakfast. There is a 72-hour cancellation policy. Please, DO NOT EMAIL A CANCELLATION TO Julia and her staff. EMAIL CANCELLATIONS ARE NOT ALWAYS RECEIVED AND YOU WILL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR YOUR ROOM IF YOU DO NOT GET A CANCELLATION NUMBER. PLEASE CALL them.
