Ride: Amish Ride
Date(s): Fri, May 30 – Sun, Jun 1 2025
Description:
Please consider joining us for the first overnight ride of the year. A leisurely day ride north by east avoiding Interstates where possible in route to Holmes County Ohio and the greater Millersburg area is the plan. Der Dutchman in Plain City is our planned northbound lunchtime stop – best fried chicken I've tasted! A restful evening awaits at the Guggisberg Swiss Inn.
Saturday's plan is a leisurely day of riding over to Sugarcreek with a quick stop and look-see of the world-famous Legends of Music Barn near Killbuck, then ride to Dutch Valley Restaurant for an early lunch in preparation for an amazing 90-minute private group tour at Age of Steam Roundhouse Museum. On the way to the museum we will pass by, for all to see, the World's Largest Cuckoo Clock in downtown Sugarcreek, OH.
The Age of Steam Roundhouse Museum is a living testament to the golden era of railroading. This unique museum not only houses incredible locomotives, railroad cars, tools, and machinery but also serves as an active roundhouse where restoration specialists work to preserve these pieces of history, and this fascinating site features a fully operational 18-stall brick roundhouse and a 115-foot turntable. Jim can tell you from personal experience, you will not want to miss this tour.
The negotiated group rate is $15 per person with a minimum of 20 attendees for the museum tour. Jim Riehm will be fronting the required deposit and final payment that is due 7 days prior. PLEASE bring cash to reimburse Jim during the trip. Also, a signed waiver is required to tour the museum. Please print and fill out this waiver in advance if possible. WAIVER
Sunday after breakfast we'll meander back home on fantastic backroads with a surprise stop in the morning. We’ll continue the beautiful backroads into Logan, OH for lunch at the Hungry Buffalo and pickup more curvy backroads on the way home.

Fifteen (15) rooms have been reserved under the block “PK HOG” at $159.95 per night including a full breakfast. There is a 72-hour cancellation policy. DO NOT EMAIL A CANCELLATION TO THEM. EMAIL CANCELLATIONS ARE NOT ALWAYS RECEIVED AND YOU WILL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR YOUR ROOM IF YOU DO NOT GET A CANCELLATION NUMBER. PLEASE CALL.
