Description: This will be a destination ride to the “Big Basket” and the AMA Museum. The “Big Basket” is the former Longaberger Company headquarters, now vacant. It is also the World's Largest Basket Building, according to the World Record Academy. There have been rumors for years of possible demolition, so this is your chance to see it in person. The (AMA) American Motorcyclist Association Motorcycle Hall of Fame Museum’s stated purpose is to “collect, record, preserve and honor the events, motorcycles and people who define the spirit of motorcycling in America, and to educate people about that rich history.” The history and motorcycle collection in the museum will be an experience to remember.
This will be a full day with early staging at 7:15 AM with an expected return time of 6:30 PM to allow time at both destination sites. Plan on a group picture in front of the “Big Basket” building. Afterward a fuel stop at BP gas is combined with Lunch at Tic Tac Taco inside the BP gas station. Tic Tac Taco is a “Subway” style franchise that makes and serves fresh food. After lunch a short 22-mile Interstate 70 ride to the AMA Museum. We have allotted 1 ½ hours at the motorcycle museum to allow everyone ample time explore and read about the amazing history.
