Memphis Belle Ride

Event date:
Sat, 07/23/2022 - 7:30am

Ride Description: On July 23rd we will be visiting the Air Force Museum in Dayton which houses military aircraft from the earliest days of aviation up to and including today.  Among these is the fully restored Memphis Belle, a Boeing B-17F, which was one of the most famous World War II heavy bombers.  The restoration took 13 years and 55,000 hours to complete. The Memphis Belle was the first Eighth Air Force bomber to complete 25 combat missions over occupied Europe without a crewman being killed.  This was at a time when the crew survival rate was less than 50%.
