Ride: Visit Little Nashville, Indiana

Description:  Come with your fellow HOGS to visit Nashville Indiana in Brown County!   (This is a Destination Ride!)

We will depart early am from Wendy's and head west on interstate 71/275 to Lawrenceburg.  We will stop at the Sunoco in Aurora to shake off the interstate dust before continuing out Indiana 50 to 7 where we will stop for a quick break again.  Then it is on to Route 46 into the heart of Nashville, Indiana.  Our plan is to arrive in time for lunch, which will also allow us to park as a group in a parking lot "on the strip".

Lunch will be on your own, our Pre-Ride enjoyed the Out of the Ordinary Bar and Grille, but there are also several other quaint restaurants on the main downtown strip.  After lunch, we will take time to browse the stores and oddities that make Downtown Nashville Indiana famous!  In the shops of Little Nashville, the experienced shopper can find original watercolor paintings, sculptures, toys from yesterday, stained glass art, solid wood furniture, wood carvings, metal sculptures, pewter, handblown glass, custom jewelry, interesting clothing, wind chimes and custom bird lodging.  HOG favorites are the Moonshine Leather Company, the Men’s Toy Shop, and the Man Cave.

We will meet back at our parking lot at a designated time for a quick sprint up the twisty hill towards Bean Blossom, where we will stop at the Bean Blossom Overlook for a great photo opportunity.  The overlook sits high atop the hills, where you can see for miles! 

We then will go back down the hill and leave Nashville.  If the group wants, we can stop at the House of Thunder Motorcycle Shop in GnawBone, IN for all your leather needs, cool shirts, biker gear, and a huge assortment of vest patches that will definitely entertain you!  Afterwards, we will return back to the Keg the same way we came.  

*** Please note that this day does involve a fair amount of walking!!! 

Road Conditions:  Interstate and State Roads – good, non-technical

Costs:   lunch and shopping

Miles:  about 260 total

Lunch Stop:  Downtown Nashville, Indiana

Break Stops:  2 gas stops on way to Nashville, 1 shopping stop plus 2 gas stops on way home             

Staging:  8:00am Behind Wendy’s near PK

Kickstands Up:   8:30 am

Return Time:   5:00 pm

This is a CLOSED chapter event – members are allowed to bring one guest.

Please arrive with tanks full, people empty.
