2021 Knock the Rust Off Ride
April 17, 2021 (April 24 rainday)
Ride Description:
Three phases of riding will allow all participants to “knock the rust off” after a long winter . . . .
Phase one will be a short group ride to the Crossroads Church parking lot. Bathrooms will not be available at the
church so please go before we leave Wendy’s. Once there, coned courses will get us back in the practice of balancing,
cornering, avoidance, and braking with each portion removing a bit more of the winter rust. Each of the courses are
designed to be more difficult/challenging/enjoyable. After our practicing is complete, but way before we’re too tired
to continue, we will have a group ride out to Wilmington on paved country roads, allowing all to get reacquainted with
“one-up” and “two-up” group riding. In Wilmington we will stop for lunch at the 73 Grill to refuel our bodies and to talk
and laugh about our trip thus far. After lunch we will return to Powder Keg via more country roads, where kickstands
will be down.
This is a CLOSED chapter event – members are allowed to bring one guest.
Please arrive with tanks full, people empty.
