Destination/Route Name: Carter Caves

Ride Description:  We will ride to Carter Caves State Park taking Rt 68 to the River. We’ll ride through Maysville, Ky then continue on Ky RT 9 to Olive Hill Ky. We will have lunch at 11:30 at Tierney Cavern. The Cave tour starts at 1:00 pm. After the Cave tour is over we will be leaving around 2 ish with a great route home.

X Cave Tour  is about 1/4 mile with 75 steps, some stooping narrow passage. The tour will begin in front of the Welcome Center. Duration 45 minutes Temperature 25-45 degrees. Cost $10

The X Cave is comprised of two narrow, vertical passageways. These passageways differ so that it seams as if you are walking through two separate geologic creations rather than a singular cave. While inside visitors will learn of the cave’s geologic formations, cave ecology, and some local history.

Road conditions: Good, mostly back roads

Costs: Lunch $15 - 20   X-Cave  $10
